NaNoWriMo update ——— #1

Time for a NaNoWriMo update!

I’ve had a good start so far! I’m already almost 40% through my goal for the month.

The theme for this NaNoWriMo is what a fellow writer suggested to me: chaos. I will write some words, and they will be everywhere.

I’ve been writing a new trilogy. I mentioned it in my NaNo-is-coming reminder post. It’s a duel POV. One thing I know is that I do not have their voices down and distinct, but that is something I can refine in later drafts.

In a way, I’m writing all three books at once. I have the first book starting in order, but I also have random scenes for book two. Since I have a general idea where everything is going, I feel like I’m setting puzzle piece by puzzle piece down. Eventually, it will be a complete puzzle.

I don’t have all the characters’ names though. That’s something I gotta do. Most are placeholder names at the moment.

But since the theme is chaos, I’m counting everything for NaNoWriMo, including other books I’m working on. I will go back and finish the rewrite for Free, the one I was working on last NaNoWriMo. I’ve also done a few chapter rewrites for my main WIP (work in progress).

Words are words.

My main goal is to finish Free soon and get some more chapter rewrites in but to mainly focus on getting as much of the trilogy down as I can. To build that structure.
