Society demands
but I don’t listen to those
manipulative words
Pushed to the background
who notices their stares
if no mirrors are around?
Society begs
but I’ve left them
in the rearview mirror
Shoved to the dirt
who notices their threats
if no one’s around?
Society screams
but I’ve put on
my headphones, full volume
Squished to their mold
I decided to be my own society
to let my thoughts roam free
