Time for another NaNoWriMo update!
My story—Free—is going a lot better than it did a week ago. The first few days were rough since I didn’t know what to write. But a couple of days ago, I had a breakthrough with the plot. It seemed a little out of nowhere, but it helped build a direction toward where I wanted the story to go.
I found that when jumping around in the story, it helps to at least put the scenes in order as I write them with page separators in between the chapters. I also put a marker in the spots where I need to fill in gaps later. My marker is three xs.
It does seem like the story will end up more than 50,000 words long, which I expected. I still have a good amount of the story done. While I want to focus on Memories Forgotten for December, I might sneak in a few writing days to finish Free.
WORDS: 43,406
PERCENTAGE THROUGH: 86.81%
“Being a writer is a very peculiar sort of a job: it’s always you versus a blank sheet of paper (or a blank screen) and quite often the blank piece of paper wins.”
― Neil Gaiman
