I kept you in my pocket
Safe and warm
From the frigid, destructive seas
Their words shouted
Harsh and cold
But you never heard a wave
A hinge shifted underneath us
New and troubled
After the world turned upside down
You fell out of my pocket
Unprotected and vulnerable
No longer under my influence
You cried that I had left you
Abandoned and motionless
But there was nothing I could do
Truly, I was left to the waves
Frightened and worried
Never to escape
We both drowned in our own seas
Soaked and too far gone
For any pocket to help us
