Blogger Recognition Award

I’m posting this one a tad late because of NaNoWriMo, but I want to thank Jaya for nominating me for this award! It’s such an honor.

Jaya runs a wonderful blog over at Nin Chronicles that’s filled with poetry, family, fantasy, and more! I always enjoy reading what she has to say. Recently (as I’m writing this), I’ve enjoyed her posts This Ghostly Love and Affair. If you have the time, please check her blog out!

About This Award:

This award is given to bloggers by bloggers, who in turn pass it on to their fellow bloggers. The Award promotes community and shows us just how far one little thing can go as each nominee shares the love further.

Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and include the link to their site.
  2. Post the award banner somewhere on your blog.
  3. Share the reason why you started your blog.
  4. Share two pieces of advice that could benefit new bloggers.
  5. Nominate a maximum of fifteen other bloggers.
  6. Tell your nominees about your award post so they can participate!

Why I Blog:

I started blogging because I knew I needed a platform to have a good chance at traditional publishing. I’ve never been big on social media—except Pinterest—so I needed something else. I ended up with a WordPress blog.

Two Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers:

Write about what you care about, not what’s popular. Blogs perform better when they’re from the heart instead of just the next best thing. There are popular blog topics for sure, but if you’re not passionate about it, it’ll show. It will also be much harder to write and keep with it if you don’t care about it as much.

Keep to a schedule. Even if this means writing blog posts in advance, do so. Posting about two to three times a week helps. I notice that if one of my blog posts is late or early, my numbers go down. So, it’s better to keep a schedule.

Nominees:

I enjoyed what Jaya did on hers, so I’m going to follow along with this train.

My nominees are anyone reading this post with a blog. I feel like many bloggers get accidentally overlooked and may feel discouraged. But take it from someone who has been blogging for years, it’s hard to maintain a blog. It takes a lot of time. So, I want to reach out and say that you are appreciated. You are amazing. Keep up the great work!

  1. I loved seeing this here and love that you have done an open nomination too! I think it is a great way to extend the blogging love further.

I love scheduling my posts ahead. It is a great feeling to know everything for said amount of time is taken care of. 🙂 Also connected with your words on writing what you love. That is the only way I can write.
