Fantasy Book Tag

Since my birthday was last weekend, I decided to do a fun book tag of my favorite genres: fantasy.

I found this book tag over at Zezee with Books.

WHAT IS THE LONGEST FANTASY SERIES THAT YOU HAVE EVER READ?

I thought it was going to be Cassandra Clare, but technically those books are split up into multiple series. Even the first series, which is six books long, isn’t the longest one I’ve read.

The longest one would have to be The Sisters Grimm with nine books.

However, if we’re counting book pages, Cassandra Clare’s books take the cake.

FAVORITE FANTASTICAL SETTING OR WORLD?

This one is hard for me. I do like the modern world mixed with fantasy elements like in The Mortal Instruments, the Skinjacker Series, and Fate of Flames. But I also like books that create their own worlds from scratch like Snow Like Ashes and The Young Elites.

I can’t decide.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FANTASY BOOK/SERIES?

The Young Elites or The Infernal Devices. I have a lot of favorites, but I find myself recommending these more than others.

WHAT FANTASY BOOK DO YOU WISH WAS MORE POPULAR?

I wish The Young Elites was more popular. That series was an emotional rollercoaster with a unique protagonist. But when I talk to people, they either have never heard of it or never read it.

YOUR FAVORITE VILLAIN?

I keep thinking about my favorite anti-hero ever for this one instead of an actual villain.

Update: after about an hour of thinking on this, maybe I don’t have a favorite villain but rather just favorite anti-heroes.

WHAT’S THE FIRST FANTASY BOOK YOU HAVE EVER READ?

From what I can remember, it was Sorcerer’s Stone, if I’m being honest.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MYTHICAL CREATURE?

I’ve always loved dragons. I like the colorful, fire-breathing ones the best.

FAVORITE FEMALE PROTAGONIST FROM A FANTASY BOOK?

Tessa Gray is one of my favorites. The first book where you get to dive into her character is Clockwork Angel. She’s a strong female who lives in a demon-filled world, yet she still finds time to read a bunch of books. She also seems to think more about the world before she says something. I connected with her character a lot.

FAVORITE MALE PROTAGONIST?

In general? Lev Tashi’ne.

But if we’re talking fantasy, I would say Derek or Jared from the Chronicles of the Guardians.

Hope you enjoyed this! Have a great day!
