The emails are coming in! The ideas are getting written down. Oh, the time of the year where everything seems to be rushing on a time clock. There isn’t much time left, but there’s so much to do.
And, gosh, it’s almost November already? It’s about time to write a novel on top of that!
November is a time for writers to join forces and write as much as they can. It’s the most motivating time of the year to get everything done. A deadline by determination and pride.
If you don’t know, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a writing competition where writers write a whole novel—50,000 words—in a month. That’s 1,667 intimidating words a day.
Getting a writing goal—motivation—is probably the best thing ever though. Through everyday life, it can be hard to make yourself sit down and write, especially if you have a second job. NaNoWriMo helps with that. Writers get a draft—no matter how much—on the page. It’s usually the month we seem to write the most at times.
This year, I’m doing something a little different. I’m giving weekly updates about my NaNoWriMo experience. I’ll try to give a motivating quote each week as well. You’re welcome to share your updates as well! Just something to relate to and hopefully push you forward. Hope you enjoy.
Excited to follow along! I’m doing it for the first time!

Goodluck! Let me know how it goes!
The first NaNoWriMo is always exciting and seems tougher. I feel like it has gotten easier and more fluid since I started.

I hope that’s my experience as well!

I am going to try to participate as well, although I write memoir.

That’s pretty cool! I’ve never written nonfiction during NaNoWriMo. I’ve only really written fantasy and scifi.
I think memoir would be good. The best thing about NaNoWriMo is that you don’t have to write in order. So, you can skip around to different parts that you want in the memoir if you get stuck.
I wish you the best of luck!
