A writer’s journey (part seven) – dead stop

It’s been a while since I wrote one of these because I’ve been at a dead stop.

I have multiple projects going at once, so it’s hard to make a lot of progress in such a short time. I’ve been editing a query, which has gotten better. I’ve been going through my novel once more, doing some editing. I’ve been on and off trying to get a small publication anywhere. But I’ve also been trying to get a writing or editing job since I graduated.

It’s all a balancing game. Do I work more on my novel today or do I work more on my query? I know I need to work more on trying to get published somewhere else. But it’s hard to find time to sit down and write another short story, let alone a good one.

Maybe that’s all a part of the process though. I’m bound to become a better writer, but just in small steps. I don’t pop up on top of the map, but rather climb the mountain. I’m hoping to get a lot done though. I have my goals down.

This dead lock shouldn’t last forever.
