You’d think writing the novel was the hardest part. Or perhaps editing the novel was worse. But no.
Queries always seem to be the hardest. They are the one thing I have never gotten a “this is amazing” from. I always get critiqued hard and have to start over again. I took a break from writing them for a while, but now I’m back at it and I’m not sure I’ve been writing them any better.
There’s always something more to change, but queries are the first thing an agent sees. They are also the make or break point for your novel. It’s a lot of stress for half a page.
But I have improved. Perhaps one day someone will like my query enough before I send it off to agents.
