It’s easy to get stuck during NaNoWriMo. After writing 31,673 words in 19 days or even 5,000 words in a few days, what else could I write about? The story has a plot, but there’s no clear path of where the story is going.
I’ve gotten to this point many times during this NaNoWriMo. Before I even got to the third chapter (about 2,613 words in), I was wondering: “Well… What now?”
My favorite question to ask during this situation is “What if?”. What if my main character was a witch? What if her parents hid her true identity from her? What would happen if she couldn’t take it anymore and left the whole country?
After a bit, I have a handful of questions to choose from. NaNoWriMo is not about being perfect, but rather keep the story going. “What if”s are one way for me to keep my story going.
